Bowers & Company CPAs, PLLC is proud to announce Richard P. Smith, CPA has been named a Tax Partner in the Firm. With more than 19 years of experience in public accounting, Rich joins the firm as a Tax Specialist in the Syracuse office.
“Bowers is a forward thinking and cutting-edge service provider that places its clients and employees first,” said Rich when asked why he decided to join Bowers.
Rich’s experience includes eight years at Deloitte and the last five years with Firley, Moran, Freer, & Eassa, providing tax and accounting services. He received both his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and his Master of Business Administration from SUNY Oswego.
Rich brings a broad range of industry experience including partnership, corporate and multistate tax services for public and privately held companies, as well as small business consulting and compliance. His experience also includes a specialized expertise in the area of multistate tax consulting for large and small businesses.
Rich is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
He is active in his community, currently serving as the treasurer and board member of the Fayetteville-Manlius Youth Football Association. He is also the former treasurer and board member for L’Arche Syracuse.
